Virginia: Become A Notary: Virginia Notaries are commissioned for 4-year term by the Secretary of the Commonwealth. An application fee is required.
- You must submit an application to the Lieutenant Governor that contains no significant misstatement or omission of fact
- You must be a Virginia resident or reside in a bordering state and work in Virginia
